Art of the Landscape with Nancy Hershberger

In this workshop, students will use their own photos to create a small, fused landscape art quilt. We will study the details in our images to figure out how to interpret them using only fabric and Tsukineko Inks. Fabric does all the heavy lifting to create the illusion of water, rock, sky and foliage, while inks enhance the look. About the Instructor: Nancy Hershberger is an Art Quilter and instructor who lives in rural Pennsylvania. She loves creating with fabric, thread with a little bit of inks, acrylics and oils, and has participated in numerous Artist–in-Residence programs through the National Park Service. “I started making traditional quilts, but the desire to create my own original designs soon took hold,“ shares Nancy. “My current body of work consists mostly of landscapes. Like the paintings they resemble, my art quilts contain ink and paint in addition to fabric, but they are, first and foremost quilts.” Visit Nancy's website »
