Join us March 25 as we celebrate WonderFil Specialty Threads!

Welcome to Artistic Artifacts!

Artistic Artifacts in Alexandria, VA is the location of the only WonderFil™ Threaducation Center on the East Coast of the U.S...and the 5th worldwide!

Join us for our WonderFil boutique celebration: on Friday evening, March 24 we will host WonderFil Threaducator Kay Capps Cross for her lecture Finding Your Voice. On Saturday, March 25 WonderFil is sponsoring two sessions (morning and afternoon) of a WonderFil Show & Tell: Get inspired with samples of threadwork and projects using these specialty threads, again led by Kay Capps Cross. While this Show & Tell event is complimentary, reservations are required as space is limited! We will have refreshments, prize drawings — it promises to be a fun afternoon!

The WonderFil thread line covers all fiber art needs: from hand work to decorative stitching to quilting and longarming to general sewing purposes! Shop these beautiful threads now!

Bernina USA: made to create

And Artistic Artifacts is a new BERNINA USA dealer! Our first sewing machines have arrived, training is ongoing, and we will have more exciting news to share soon, including about service and repair, master classes and much more! If you’ve been thinking of buying a sewing machine (bernettes, Swiss design sewing machines at an affordable price, are available for purchase online) and/or upgrading from what you currently have, we’ll be happy to help: learn more »

Artistic Artifacts products — new and vintage supplies for fiber and mixed media artists — are available in this secure online store and at our brick and mortar shop, Artistic Artifacts, located in Alexandria, Virginia. We also exhibit at quilt shows and creative retreats: see our Events listing.

Everyone can “virtual visit” us: earlier this year Great Day Washington, a local morning television program, aired four live demonstration segments with us throughout the morning: surface design (block, mono and Thermofax printing), paper piecing quilt blocks, mixed media and upcycling techniques, and hand-stitching batik panels. Visit the Artistic Artifacts blog to view each segment and learn more »
