Artistic Artifacts offers Mastery Classes on a regular basis, in-person at our shop in Alexandria, VA as a FREE benefit to those who purchased their BERNINA from us! We know you will enjoy learning on a hands-on basis from Artistic Artifacts staffer Katherine Nichols, BERNINA owner and a lifelong sewist and quilter!
There is limited seating in each session. Please reply promptly to any email from Artistic Artifacts so we can ensure that everyone has a plac. Due to the retirement of our BERNINA Ambassador Kathy Lincoln, we no longer offer our Master classes online (via Zoom); classes are in-person only.
Artistic Artifacts is also hosting bi-monthly machine embroidery events in 2024, open to paid registrants, first come, first served. There’s no longer a requirement to register for the full year of ‘club’ classes — you’re able to attend individual classes as desired! Why this change? We know that people’s lives and commitments are ever changing, and we want to give you the flexibility to enjoy your machine without having to predict your schedule in advance. The machine embroidery skill building meet at the store from 10:30 am - 2:30 pm on the third Saturdays of odd-numbered months. The first session was January 20, with subsequent meetings planned forMarch 16, May 18, July 20, September 21, and November 16. You bring your own supplies to customize your projects.
And we’ve introduced something new for 2024! We’ll be exploring techniques outlined in the book Machine Magic by Deborah Louie, available at Artistic Artifacts Learn more about the decorative stitches on your machine and how to use various presser feet and accessories. Plus each month Judy Gula will demonstrate an additional embellishment technique! The machine explorations sessions take place at the store from 10:30 am - 2:30 pm on the third Saturdays of even-numbered months (no meeting in April due to our Creative Minds Summit). The first session is February 17, with subsequent meetings on June 15, August 17, and October 19. Each Machine Explorations class will be independent while building your skills and confidence in using the decorative stitches on your machine.
