Saturday, February 10, 2018
10:00 am - 4:30 pm, ½ hour lunch break
Start a small quilt or evening bag while exploring the ins and outs of crazy quilting. This versatile technique lends itself to a wide range of fabrics, plain or fancy. Best of all, there are no points to match! If you enjoy enriching the surface, machine or hand embroidery, beading and just about any other type of embellishment are all possibilities. Left unembellished, the asymmetrical patchwork can be fun to quilt using your choices of the many WonderFil Specialty Threads
. Diane’s method focuses on creating of irregular “units” which are assembled into crazy-pieced fabric large enough for whatever you wish to make. Unlike most methods, there will be no muslin stabilizer, so the crazy-piecing drapes beautifully. Download your supply list »
About the Instructor:
Diane is a nationally-known quilter/fiber artist and teacher known for inventing her Trash Bag Quilting technique as well as Crazy Quilting, ribbon embroidery, quilted garments, and more. Old postcards, buttons and bits of lace often become a part of her work. “I think of my quilts and collages as being sister artworks. They are all assembled from the same things: textiles, paper, embellishments and memories,” says Diane. Visit her website
