Boro and Beyond: The Versatile Running Stitch with Julie Booth
Saturday-Sunday, October 21-22, 2017
10:00 am – 4:30 pm, ½ hour lunch break

From the rustically stitched layers of recycled indigo fabrics found in Japanese Boro to the rhythmically patterned designs of Indian Kantha, variations of the Running Stitch can be found in almost every culture. In this weekend workshop, we’ll explore this versatile stitch. In Day 1, students will create a series of Running Stitch samplers. Students will have the opportunity to see how this stitch can be used to appliqué, quilt, gather/distort, and pattern fabric. In Day 2, students will design a stitched work that incorporates some or all of the techniques from Day 1. Come enjoy a weekend full of exciting exploration and relaxing hand stitching! Class fee, $144.00 plus a $10 kit/supply fee. Download your supply list »
