Thursday, September 23, 2021
10:00 am – 2:00 pm, ½ hour lunch breakClass will take place in our warehouse and/or parking lot, and is limited to 6 students.
Create a range of indigo-dyed fabrics to use in your art, garments and quilting, and/or dye garments, vintage linens, trims and more in these amazing shades of blue! Bring your own natural fabrics (note that indigo will not
work on synthetic fibers) such as silk, cotton, linen and rayon. Include a variety of weights: thinner fabrics like gauze and chiffons take the dye in a different way than does denim. We will explore shibori techniques such as arashi, ne-maki, itajime and kumo. You can also explore the results from a wide variety of Shibori Stitch Resist techniques if you prepare your fabrics in the days prior to class
. $65 workshop fee and $15.00 supply fee, which includes use of a premixed indigo dye vat, use of supplies and 1 yard of 100% cotton prepared for dyeing (PFD). View supply list and learn more about how to create Shibori Stitch Resists »About the Instructor:
