Discover the delights of creating your own unique papers and fabrics with a combination of gelatin plate mono-printing, stamping and screen printing. Gelatin plate printing is a fun and easy method of mono-printing that results in a unique painted surface. We will use both the traditional gelatin plate as well as commercial polymer printing plates. Create unique textures and patterns using found objects (a.k.a., ‘junk’), stamps, stencils and resists or masks. Learn about patterns and surface design with Thermofax Screen printing, wood block printing and printing with some of the same found objects, stencils and resists to create a one of a kind delectable cloth. Your registration includes a $20 materials cost covering use of paints and tools, gelatin plates and Thermofax screens, wood printing blocks and stencils. This is a totally addictive, instant-gratification kind of class — you’ll leave with a stash of papers and fabrics to use in your fiber and mixed media projects! Download your student supply list »
