Beginning Book Arts: Upcycled Pamphlet Notebook with Beverly Hilbert
Saturday, February 23, 2019
10:00 am - 4:30 pm, ½ hour lunch break
Most Supplies Provided!
Perfect for beginners, students will make two books in this class! The first book is a double-pamphlet that can be used for taking notes and practicing art journaling techniques. The second book, small enough to fit in a purse, is a multiple pamphlet book with a recycled plastic bag cover that will hold 3 or more pamphlets. Elastic bands hold the pamphlets in the cover and give you the flexibility to exchange the pamphlets to fit your personal needs and whims! The pamphlet stitch will be used for both books and is easy to learn, and basic bookmaking tools and techniques will also be reviewed. Walk away from this class with a completed book and the knowledge and skills to make more for yourself or to give as gifts. Wondering what to put in your books? Ideas will be discussed and techniques demonstrated for how to overcome the blank page. Class fee, $72.00 + supply/kit fee of $8, which includes the decorative shopping bag, lots of papers and fun collage materials to share, and more. In addition to your supply list (download now)
students are asked to bring 2-3 items that can either be used as a journal page or can be
collaged to a journal page.
