Creating Art Quilts from Recycled Materials with Judy Gula
Saturday/Sunday, January 19-20, 2019
10:00 am – 4:00 pm
This Upcycle Design Workshop is a tremendous opportunity to plan or execute a quilt for SAQA’s upcoming exhibition “Upcycle!”
Join us in this collaborative master class setting as we explore ins and outs of working with recycled materials. Judy Gula will provide guidance and support throughout the two days, but students must have the experience and skills to work independently; this is not a beginner class.Whether your goal is to minimize your landfill contributions or to creatively upcycle unconventional and unexpected materials, this workshop will allow you to explore on your own or brainstorm with other artists. Each student will have one 6-foot table as a workspace, so we are limited to 12 students maximum. Sewing machines and materials can be left overnight so you can immediately resume work on Sunday morning, and you will have fewer interruptions than you will have in your home: bonus!
