Alcohol Inks are transparent dye inks that dry quickly and are designed for use on non-porous surfaces such Yupo or glossy paper, metal, glass, ceramic, plastic and other slick surfaces. Learn the techniques to create vibrant, layered backgrounds with gorgeous artistic effects. Susan Gantz has spent hours mastering this medium and will teach you how to apply (and how much) alcohol ink to your substrates. You will enjoy playing with the many options there are: adding ink, removing ink, diluting ink, using stencils, drawing into designs and more. You will leave class with beautiful finished examples and a sampler of techniques that you can develop further. Your registration fee of $44.00 includes an $8.00 supply fee, covering use of instructor’s alcohol inks in a variety pf colors including metallics, alternative substrates to experiment with, use of egg carton palettes, eyedroppers, spray bottles and more. About the Instructor:
Susan Gantz is a multitalented artist who enjoys a variety of mediums and whose work has been shown regionally in the D.C. area. Susan has been working with, and teaching, polymer clay classes for more than a decade and has a variety of other mixed media art experience. She admits that she has become “addicted” to exploring a variety of monoprinting techniques using gel printing plates!
