Traditional Handmade Copper Tjaps, set of two. Dimensions: each tjap is approximately 7.5 in. high x 7.5 in. wide plus handles. A previous owner braced the handles with wood blocks and attached hardware (see additional photo) so the tjaps can be hung on a wall. Our tjaps (pronounced chops, also known as stamps or caps) were once used to produce beautiful batik fabrics and have since been retired from production. While designed to stamp wax patterns into fabric, tjaps are also useful to fiber and mixed media artists for creating rubbings with Paintstiks, and appeal to collectors to display for their sculptural quality. Note: only one tjap per design is available and all orders are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Our vintage/traditional tjaps were once working tools and varying degrees of imperfections from that use and their age are to be expected.
