Rich in history, Ischia di Castro is strategically located to many fascinating cities, historic archaeological sites such as the ancient Etruscan city of Castro, and bodies of water.
The 2019 trip cost $2,200 (airfare not included) and participants enjoy:
- two meals a day
- accommodations in apartments in the city
- morning mixed media classes led by Judy Gula — all supplies provided!
- afternoon guided tours and sightseeing (scroll down the page), including a special excursion to the town of Fabriano, where beautiful paper is produced!
During morning sessions students learn new skills, hone old one and more, sampling a wide selection of products and techniques to create original and layered journal pages (examples by Judy pictured here), binding them into a custom art journal!
The afternoons find everyone exploring the unusual, authentic, medieval Italian countryside including spas, lakes, catacombs, beaches — all while sampling the best authentic, locally grown and prepared Italian foods and wines.
