Rich in history, Ischia di Castro is strategically located to many fascinating cities, historic archaeological sites such as the ancient Etruscan city of Castro, and bodies of water.

    You will begin each morning with a Stitch Meditation, a beautiful contemplative practice created by Liz (watch this video introduction by Liz Kettle). Additional morning and afternoon studio time will focus on topics such as faux drawing watercolor and stitch (example pictured above); weaving the colors of Ischia Di Castro; fabric collage, image transfers and more!

    Interspersed with studio sessions are the fascinating and enriching tours of the beautiful, medieval Italian towns and countryside, all while sampling the best authentic, locally grown and prepared Italian foods and wines.

    This Creative Retreat is priced at $2,495 (airfare not included), offering you the following:

    • two meals a day
    • accommodations in apartments in the city
    • morning mixed media classes — all supplies provided!
    • afternoon guided tours and sightseeing, including a special excursion to the town of Fabriano (pictured here), where beautiful paper is produced!

    Below, the historic medieval town of Bolsena sits on the north shore of a lake with the same name. A major tourist getaway during the summer, the town and lake offer boating, beaches, a museum, castle, churches, camping, shopping and a host of beautiful hotels and restaurants.
