ICE Resin® is a two-part epoxy resin that cures to a permanent glass-like state, and will not fade or yellow. Artistic Artifacts now carries ICE Resin® in two sizes (1 oz. syringe and 8 oz. kit), as well as a new instructional book, Explore, Create, Resinate: Mixed Media Techniques using ICE Resin® by Jen Cushman and Exploring Resin Jewelry-Making, a DVD featuring Susan Lenart Kazmer herself, showing you how to create one-of-a-kind designs using resin, found objects, special mementos, and other cool mixed media.
Another new product to our shop is her 2-part silicone molding putty, ideal for quickly and easily making detailed molds that can be used with ICE Resin®.
ICE Resin® creator Susan Lenart Kazmer began using resin in her mixed-media jewelry more than decade ago. Searching for a safer alternative to the harsh chemicals found in many commercial resins, Susan developed ICE Resin®, a crystal-clear jeweler’s grade resin that’s environmentally safe, self-leveling, self-doming and self-healing.
Want to “try before you buy” and get hands-on experience using ICE Resin®? Take our July 16 workshop with Leslie Brier, creating your own unique mixed media ICE Resin® Pendant! |

Wow...busy times at Artistic Artifacts and Batik Tambal! We were happy to see so many old and new friends at the Quilter’s Unlimited Annual Show. Beth Richardson was the lucky winner of our $25 gift certificate (each class/workshop registration that took place in our booth or online from June 1-3 equaled one chance in our drawing). We had a big display board there listing the wide variety of workshops we are offering, but you know what? That wasn’t even the complete listing! As we noted last month, there are too many to include in this enewsletter, and even more continue to be added, such as our new Modern Quilting series with Lynda Poole Prioleau, so we ask you to please check our website frequently as we continue to add fun and creative fiber, mixed media and jewelry classes. Spread the word! |

We’ve made a last-minute decision to exhibit at The Great American Scrapbook Convention this coming weekend, Friday and Saturday, June 22-23 in Chantilly, VA at the Dulles Expo Center. It features a new Mixed Media education track this year, with renowned instructors Melanie Testa, Traci Baustista, Quinn McDonald and Jennifer Priest. Registrations for classes and/or general admission shopping passes will be accepted at the door (online registration is now closed).
Email us and request a discount coupon to save $2 off your registration fee! If you do attend, please visit us in Booth #512 — we’ll have a lot of our exclusive ephemera and mixed media goodies for sale and are planning a fun make and take for shoppers.
