Tons of New Classes!

Learn new techniques and stretch your creativity! We have been hard at work organizing and posting a wide variety of classes for the summer and fall — too many to list here, and even more are coming in the days and weeks ahead — including classes designed exclusively for youths and teens this summer! I’m happy to report that I’m getting back into the act too, hosting two dye days and teaching my fabric postcards, plus new “stashbuilder” classes.

Arts & Old Lace Quilt Deadline

Thursday, May 31 is the due date for all participating quilts! Email [email protected] if you have questions about the challenge. We’ve been so impressed with the quilts submitted thus far — like the Power Suit Art Quilt Exhibit before it, this will be a spectacular show! Plan to visit the Annex on Saturday, July 21 for the opening artist’s reception.

Remember that your quilt needs to have a hanging sleeve that is 4” deep with a half-inch ease and sewn to the quilt on all four sides with a 1” margin at the top and on each end. Challenge Co-Founder Cyndi Souder has posted thorough how-to instructions to her blog on how to make a sleeve that will best present your hard work.

Artistic Artifacts at Art & Soul

If you’re interested in mixed-media art classes, but don’t live near us, considering attending the 2012 Art & Soul retreats, sponsored in part by Artistic Artifacts (learn more)! The Las Vegas event is quickly approaching: June 14-18. This fall Artistic Artifacts will again be the the on-site “store” for the Portland, OR event, which takes place October 1-7.
