April Batik Workshop — Second Class?

Last month we shared the exciting news that Batik and the Indonesian Creative Process, a two-day contemporary batik workshop, would be taking place Friday, April 19 & Saturday, April 20 at our shop. The limited number of slots for this workshop were reserved quickly, so we are gauging the interest level for a second session. If there is enough interest, this second session would be scheduled for Sunday, April 21 & Monday, April 22.

Email Judy directly if you are interested in taking advantage of this very rare opportunity to study under two of the world’s finest contemporary batik artists! Agus Ismoyo and Nia Fliam will lead an introduction to the creative process of Javanese batik and an explanation of some of the traditional symbols used in the Indonesian batik tradition. Batik techniques, using both the tjanting (hand tool with a small spout) and tjaps (copper stamps), will be taught. To learn more about the workshop, please visit the Batik Tambal website »
