New Products: Ribbon, Stencils, Batik Fabrics!

Gorgeous new ribbons have been added to our stock: vintage maps of Paris, French handwriting, a yardstick pattern — even a piano keyboard! Shop all ribbon now »

Stencils are one of the quickest ways to customize fabric and paper, and we’ve recently added dozens of new designs of the popular The Crafter’s Workshop (TCW) brand stencils, both the large 12" x 12" scrapbook paper and the small 6" x 6" sizes. Also new are stencils by Laura Murray and Cedar Canyon Textiles.

We’ve added new patterns and colors of the popular Robert Kaufman Fabrics batiks. These are exclusively produced on the island of Java in Indonesia by skilled dye masters, with rich colors and exquisite tonal patterns that lend themselves beautifully to any fiber project, from quilts to apparel. April Batik Workshop with Visiting Artists!

Trash Can of Tradition (Tong Eampah Tradisi)In addition to the above workshops, we have additional exciting news: details have been finalized for Batik and the Indonesian Creative Process, a two-day contemporary batik workshop on April 19-20 at our shop. Two of Indonesia’s finest contemporary batik artists, Agus Ismoyo and Nia Fliam, will lead an introduction to the creative process of Javanese batik and an explanation of some of the traditional symbols used in the Indonesian batik tradition. Participants will also be taught batik techniques using both the tjanting (hand tool with a small spout) and tjaps (copper stamps). Ismoyo and Fliam are masters of aligning individual inspiration with the techniques that transform vision into beautiful reality — pictured here is Trash Can of Tradition (Tong Eampah Tradisi). The goal is for you to create batik cloth that is an expression of your artistic vision. Spaces for this rare opportunity are very limited and going quickly, so reserve your spot today!
