As 2015 comes to a close, we would like to wish you all a wonderful holiday season, with our thanks for your support! The Artistic Artifacts Annex at 4750 Eisenhower Avenue will be closed for the holidays December 24–27. We will be open for special hours on Monday, December 28, so if you are visiting family or friends in the metropolitan DC area, come see us in person! We will be closed for New Years December 31–January 1, reopening on Saturday, January 2.
Due to these holiday closings, orders placed through our website will be processed on the next open business day.
Vintage Ephemera Downloads!
Artistic Artifacts/Batik Tambal owner Judy Gula is gifting our customers and the readers of these enewsletters and our blog with free downloads of two vintage postcard images from her collection (pictured here slightly cropped). These beautiful images are scanned at 300 dpi for your use in your own fiber (print on fabric and use in an art quilt) and/or mixed media projects. To download, click on each image to bring up its full-size version, then right-click (or click and hold on a Mac) and save the high resolution JPG to your computer.
A Never Too Late Gift!
Available in $25, $50 and $100 amounts, the new Artistic Artifacts Gift Certificate is the perfect gift: let your favorite creative mind pick out their choice of our creative finds! Shop 24/7 with no worries about delivery: you may send the unique redemption coding directly to your recipient with a personalized message, or use your own email on the order form and create your own presentation.
New Colors of Viva Crackle
Croco Crackling Colour is one of the amazing Viva Decor products ideal for mixed media: it adheres to many surfaces: chipboard (we have some new shapes stocked in our online shop), wood, canvas, glass, metal, ceramics, plastic and more. Create 3-D crackle effects (vary the size and dimension of the cracks by using thin or thick coats) by simply applying with a paintbrush. Its important to give the product enough time to dry on its own and develop its crackle pattern (24 – 48 hours, see image below) — dont use a heat gun to accelerate the process. We have just updated our website with a number of additional color choices of Viva Crackle: shop now »
