Machine-Age Santos with Leslie Brier
Saturday, June 3, 2017
10:00 am – 4:30 pm, ½ hour lunch break
This art doll puts a neo-Victorian twist on the traditional Santos! You will construct a wire cage that will enclose a series of gears, springs and other mechanical things. Then come the finishing touches: embellishing her with everything that a proper Victorian/steampunk lady needs! Learn a variety of cold-connection techniques, collage methods, and experiment with Aves Apoxie Sculpt (a two-part epoxy clay for sculpting) and polymer clay molding, while constructing your own mixed media assemblage. Registration fee of $110 includes a $25 kit fee for supplies used in class. Aves Apoxie Sculpt, some gears, head base, dowels, items to use as your base and aluminum tape will be provided for you. (Extra assemblage items will be available for purchase, but are not required.) Student supply list to come.
