Disperse Dye Transfers: Vintage Hand-Tinted Photos and More. TBA September Date. 10:00am-4:00pm Two day class taught by Artist Diane Herbort. visit Diane’s website www.DianeHerbort.com. Disperse dye transfers are extremely lightfast and machine washable. We’ll use black & white toner photocopies and learn the process by making monochromatic warm black transfers. They can be given a hand-tinted look with colored pencils or washes of textile paint. This method required polyester fabric, which opens up possibilities for layering sheer images. Along with the basic photo transfers, Diane will introduce you to the huge range of surface design techniques that can be done with multicolored disperse dyes: Stamping, stenciling, sponging, “faux marbling” and more. Request supply list with registration confirmation. Diane is a contributing writer to Cloth Paper Scissors, see her Article in March/April 2008 about Dispurse Dyes. |
