Fun and creative fiber, mixed media and jewelry classes and workshops with renowned instructors are scheduled on a regular basis — view our current lineup now. We offer classes to build a community of inspiring teachers and students — students who want creative freedom, students who are ready to create from their hearts, students who want to discover their voice.

In addition to our talented roster of local instructors (many of whom teach nationally) we’re delighted to be welcoming our www.TextileEvolution.com friends from Colorado: renowned fiber and mixed media artists Ruth Chandler and Liz Kettle, two of the coauthors of Threads — the Basics and Beyond and Fabric Embellishing — the Basics and Beyond. Liz will bring her comprehensive (three-days) Stitch Journeys workshop to us on June 21-22. Suitable even for beginners, this workshop give you mastery of your sewing machine as you develop the confidence to tackle any kind of specialty thread and fill your creative tool box full of fabulous techniques. (Ask to see Liz’s amazing finished book in the shop!) Ruth taught Stitch Play on May 2 and Indigo and Shibori Dyeing May 4-5.

Our workshops offer a creative and supportive environment with sharing artists. All Artistic Artifacts instructors are talented artists themselves, comfortable sharing their experiences and creative techniques. It is our goal to encourage everyone who searches for the creative voice the opportunity to practice and to experience new techniques and mediums. And we’re always looking for new ideas — this summer you’ll see a new sun printing class, and a new edition of our upcycled sewing classes.

Join our community by taking our classes! “I challenge you to try something that interests you, but doesn’t have a connection to the art that you create now,” says Artistic Artifacts owner Judy Gula. “And then take a class that enhances the art that you do now. All that you learn, experience and share moves your creative side forward.”

At Artistic Artifacts, we want to encourage you to be creative… yes, it does take practice!
