Fun and creative fiber, mixed media and jewelry classes and workshops with renowned instructors are scheduled at our store in Alexandria, VA on a regular basis — view our current lineup now. We offer classes to build a community of inspiring teachers and students — students who want creative freedom, students who are ready to create from their hearts, students who want to discover their voice. It is our goal to encourage everyone who searches for the creative voice the opportunity to practice and to experience new techniques and mediums.
Artistic Artifacts students show off newly made bamboo bracelets.
Our workshops offer a creative and supportive environment with sharing artists — view our current classes now to register online. All Artistic Artifacts instructors are talented artists themselves, comfortable sharing their experiences and creative techniques.
We are pleased to announce that renowned mixed media artist and instructor Seth Apter will be visiting us this October, teaching two of his popular classes: For Your Eyes Only (a handbound mixed media journal) and 52 Card Pickup (learn Seths techniques for collaging and creating texture). Registration is open now for these classes, so sign up today to ensure your seat! Learn more and register »
We’re always looking for new ideas, so contact us with your thoughts and requests. Remember too that we are happy to arrange a custom class to suit your schedule! You can also join us on the 2nd Thursday evening of each month for our “How Do I Use This?” instructional demonstrations, which offers you ample opportunity to try out new products and techniques.
Join our community by taking our classes! “I challenge you to try something that interests you, but doesn’t have a connection to the art that you create now,” says Artistic Artifacts owner Judy Gula. “And then take a class that enhances the art that you do now. All that you learn, experience and share moves your creative side forward.”
Those eager for more creative community and sharing might be interested in joining Judy’s Altered Minds (affectionately known as JAMs), a fiber/mixed media altered art group that meets at Artistic Artifacts on the 3rd Sunday of each month at 1:00 pm. Learn more about JAMs »
