Judy Gula Artist Statement:
“I believe that to make art, you must live art. Every day, I am surrounded by the things that inspire me, both at home and in my shop. I find inspiration in materials, my interactions with other artists, and in surprising and unexpected experiences.
“My art comes from my experiences and from my circle of friends. I often work with vintage materials and they fill me with visions and ideas. The materials speak to me and I provide their voice.
“My goal is to share my love of art with as many people as possible. In empowering them to create their own artwork, I find my bliss. ”
Artistic Artifacts founder/owner Judy Vincentz Gula considers herself a fiber person, having been involved in fiber art since elementary school. After graduating college with majors in Fashion Design and Business Marketing, Judy learned to weave, sew, dye, stamp, quilt, bead, craft jewelry and more. Those experiences and contacts bought her to fiber art and mixed media, which she explores through art quilts and fiber/mixed media jewelry.
Her passions for creating unique art and collecting wonderful bits and treasures combined to create Artistic Artifacts Annex, a place where artists gather... learn more via the links above.
